Reflexology does not claim to be a ‘cure all’ but many people worldwide have found they have been helped by reflexology.

Surveys carried out by The British Reflexology Association showed benefits to those presenting with symptoms of stress, insomnia and irritable bowel syndrome. According to Nicola Hall (Director of Bayly School of Reflexology) in her book Reflexology for Women, treatment may help with “a wide range of disorders, including headaches, migraines, sinus congestion, stiffness in the neck and back, digestive problems, hormonal problems”. 

Do I need a medical referral to see a Reflexologist? 
No, you don't. However, do check with your doctor if you are unsure if you should attend a reflexology session. A reflexologist will advise you to seek medical advice or refer you to another specialised field if deemed necessary
for your well being. 

Your initial treatment will start with a medical history being taken to ensure it is safe to give treatment and to determine the required approach. (Reflexology is not recommended in the first trimester of pregnancy). Then you simply sit back in a recliner chair and relax. Your feet or hands are massaged using precise reflexology techniques, with a firm but comfortable pressure. There is no expectation for you to continue treatment week after week but a block of three treatments either weekly or every second week allows an opportunity to record any shift in your well-being or reason for having treatment. Most people who have experienced a reflexology session would agree that it is a very relaxing therapy, which may reduce tension and lead to an improved sense of well-being.
